Introducing New GO! Square-1¼" (¾" Finished) and GO! Bow Tie by Chris Marchini

Are you ready to try something new? AccuQuilt has not one but two new dies that are poised and ready to take your creativity down a few new paths – the GO! Square 1¼” (¾” Finished) and the GO! Bow Tie by Chris Marchini of Rose City Originals. These dies are bringing us new quilting adventures, so let’s GO!

GO! Square 1¼” (¾” Finished)

This little die packs a big creative punch. For those who love making use of every last scrap, fans of mini quilts and anyone interested in exploring pixel quilts, this die is going to be your new BFF. With 9 squares on the die, you can cut up to 54 perfect squares in one pass through any cutter, including our little buddy: the GO! Me.

You can get even more creative options when you match this die up with the GO! Qube 6” Companion Set-Corners Shape 12.1, a ¾” finished half square triangle! There’s no need to worry about sewing the small size pieces, either. Not only are they perfectly cut, but you can use them with a fusible that has a printed grid on it or make your own!

Pixel quilt expert Dee Bushrod of PixelQuilts.com suggests working with 8 square x 8 square sections when creating pixel quilts. I created a paper gride with a marker and my quilting ruler, then laid a piece of the June Tailor T-Shirt Fusible Project Interfacing over the top of the grid on my pressing surface, and placed my squares inside the squares on the grid. Then, cover the fusible with a June Tailor Non-Stick Pressing Sheet, and press the squares down.

From there, you can fold along the rows and sew your all ¼” seams in one direction. Clipping the seams between the squares lets you press those seams opposite directions so the seam intersections will nest when you fold and stitch the rows the opposite direction.

Speaking of Chris, he has a new licensed designer die for AccuQuilt. Now you can create a wide variety of bow ties to enhance every outfit and occasion with ease using this innovative die. 

What’s “sew” special? Looking at the die board, you’ll see that it’s screen printed to allow you to easily make different sizes of these dapper ties. You’ll also see that we’ve removed the dog ears to cut down on extra work and to make turning the shapes right-side out easier, but the biggest time-saver and innovation comes in the form of the pre-cut notches along the curved edges! If you’ve ever made clothing or sewn a lot of curves, you know what a huge time saver this really is for you.
