What is the Die to Try Series?

The Die to Try Series is AccuQuilt’s monthly limited-release program. On the first Tuesday of each month, a brand-new die arrives in small quantities.
Each release is designed to help quilters experiment with new techniques, explore fresh ideas or try something they may not normally cut by hand. From applique dies like this month’s release to full BOB™ (Block On Board™) dies, the Die to Try Series is full of opportunities to branch out with lots of support, inspiration and encouragement!

Meet the GO! Sheep & Goat Die

The GO! Sheep & Goat die works with all GO! Cutters and includes two applique shapes sized just right for farmyard fun. The Sheep finishes at 4½" x 4" and the Goat at 4⅜" x 4⅛".

Curved silhouettes like these, especially on smaller pieces, can really get your goat! (Sorry, we had to!) All kidding aside, intricate shapes like these are time consuming and frustrating to cut by hand and nearly impossible to keep consistent. With a GO! die, you simply layer pre-fused fabric and run it through the cutter for clean, accurate shapes every time. No feeling sheepish about baaaadly cut shapes! 

A Perfect Die for Scraps and Precuts

One of the best things about this die is how easily it works with fabric you already have on hand.

Both shapes are charm square friendly, making them ideal for 5" precuts or scrap bin digging.

GO! Dies easily slice through all types of fabrics and can cut through things you’d never dream of using your good rotary cutter or fabric shears on, like paper, card stock, and craft foam. These dies last through thousands of cuts, no matter what you’re cutting. That flexibility opens the door to adding texture and dimension to your applique projects and lets you add perfectly die cut shapes to craft projects of all types.

GO! Counting the Animals Quilt

This playful quilt finishes at 36” x 42” and turns farm animals into a counting activity for little farmers! Rows of appliqued animals march across the quilt top, with tractors leading the stampede! This colorful farm scene works especially well for kids’ rooms or baby quilts.

Use the GO! Sheep & Goat, the GO! Tractor and the GO! Farm Animals Medley dies to complete this quilt top and add the GO! Strip Cutter 2-1/2" (2" Finished) to cut your binding in one pass.

GO! On the Farm Throw Quilt 

This throw quilt finishes at 45” x 45” and features a cheerful farm scene surrounded by a pieced picket fence border. Sheep, goats, cows, pigs and chickens are scattered across the center panel, making it a fun showcase for applique combined with pieced blocks.

Along with the GO! Sheep & Goat die, you’ll need the GO! Farm Animals Medley die, GO! Qube Mix & Match 8" Block, the GO! Qube Mix & Match 4" Block and the GO! Strip Cutter 2-3/4" (2-1/4" Finished).

GO! Bah Bah Sheep Wall Hanging 

This 29 ½” x 29 ½” graphic wall hanging by Chantelle Bailey of Chantelle Bailey Design uses high-contrast fabrics and repeating sheep blocks to create a modern quilt design that celebrates the beauty of being a little bit different. Alternating black and white sheep add visual interest, while simple sashing keeps the layout clean and structured.
