Hi, it's me, Bea from Beaquilter.com. I'm here to share with you a fun quilt pattern I created using the new GO! Crazy Quilt-6" Finished (55226) die! The crazy quilt blocks are great for scrapbusting, but the GO! Crazy Quilt die is perfect for fabric layer cakes (10" squares), too.
If you haven't been introduced to the GO! Crazy Quilt-6" Finished die, take a moment to watch this video. It's exciting because this die fits the GO! and GO! Big!
Supplies
I received the Strata layer cake from Michael Miller 10" layer cakes and knew I wanted to play with this rock inspired combination.

In EQ, I experimented with this block and fabric combinations. I thought of rocks for just the middle and the rest of the block in the same color. It would take on this geode-like look and feel.

So I quickly cut out (25) 10" squares into crazy quilt block pieces! The pack had 40 but 25 designs so I could have made it bigger, but chose to just use one of each fabric.

I cut the blocks out in order of light and dark fabrics so I could just stack them and take the middle piece and put it at the bottom and then sew the blocks together right from the stacks!

Putting the Quilt Together
I followed the GO! Crazy Quilt block construction directions from AccuQuilt and the blocks went together easily and quickly!

I chose this layout of five by five GO! Crazy Quilt blocks. I always like to do some planning first with my design wall, but that's because it's the fun part!

Here it is all done and quilted. I chose a solid grey for the back and binding. I think I'll call this quilt, "A Diamond in the Rough". :)

Here's a close up of the back. I quilted pebbles and rocks all over with straight lines and curves on the centers.

Such a fun and easy die to play with! If you create a project with the GO! Crazy Quilt-6" Finished die, be sure to share it with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Be sure to add the #AccuQuilt hashtag and tag us so we see it!
